Information R/evolution
In viewing this video, I remember using the old card catalog system as a means of locating a book or reference material in the library. I also remember searching through microfilm until I thought I would go blind looking for information. But now "we must rethink information beyond material constraints." "Everything is miscellaneous." "We no longer find information-we can make it find us." The responsibility of harnessing, creating, understanding, critiquing, and organizing information has been placed on all of us. "Together we create more information than the experts." Wow! It is indeed mind-boggling when I realize how far we have come in this "information age"!

We're old enough to remember the card catalogues. It took me a long time to want to use computerized versions. I kept looking for the "real" one!

I have been around for the end of the card catalog and the beginning of computer database searching. Things have changed so fast in the last ten years. We can't even begin to predict the future.
